When You Hold Me
March 10, 2012
Your name is written in the stars.
I see your face in twinkling lights.
You kiss me in the night when I close my eyes.
Don’t let the dawn break my heart
Don’t let the dawn break my heart
Don’t let the dawn break me
I stay awake and dream, that’s when you hold me.
Darkness hides what’s real, that’s when you hold me.
I could never understand
what I think or what I feel.
When the dawn creeps up on me I don’t know what’s real.
Don’t let the dawn break my heart
Don’t let the dawn break my heart
Don’t let the dawn break me.
I stay awake and dream, that’s when you hold me.
Darkness hides what’s real, that’s when you hold me.
Will you ever leave my dreams?
Will you haunt me ’til I die?
As of now I’d rather sleep because the sun makes me blind.
Don’t let the dawn break my heart
Don’t let the dawn break my heart
Don’t let the dawn break me.
Cold
February 26, 2012
Silence calls, calls her home
and we don’t know where to run.
You’re cold and you’re tired.
You lie awake, hardly alive;
Sleepless dreams, sleepless nights.
You’re cold, you’re cold and you’re tired.
Who will you harm tonight?
Hold me tighter.
How can you smile when the world is going to end?
Who will you harm tonight?
The city keeps you up at night.
Your heart will race, your mind will fight you.
You’re cold, still cold and so tired.
Who will you harm tonight?
Hold me tighter.
How can you smile when the world is going to end?
Who will you harm tonight?
You’re lost in a world you created yourself.
Now you can’t seem to find your way out.
Who will you harm tonight?
Hold me tighter.
How can you smile when the world is going to end?
Who will you harm tonight?
Spring in Oslo
March 29, 2011
The snow melting beneath our feet,
sun shining on Karl Johans street.
A bag of chocolates in your hand
we sat by the castle, two Beatle-fans.
We were kids didn’t want to grow old.
We were kids it was spring in Oslo, spring in Oslo.
In our ears were Lennon and McCartney,
i had you and you had me.
The two of us, we didn’t need more
in the spring of 2004.
We were kids didn’t want to grow old.
We were kids and it was spring in Oslo, spring in Oslo.
Paper Hearts
March 6, 2011
I’ve been drawing hearts,
tearing them apart.
Now I can’t remember why.
I’ve been losing faith,
trying to find my place
with no purpose and no drive.
There’s nothing wrong about me.
There’s nothing right.
How can you say nothing’s wrong with this picture?
I’ll do my best, trying hard not to trick her.
God only knows if it’s truth, if it’s fiction.
Losing touch with time, stuck beneath the sky tonight.
You’re not gonna find
any peace of mind
if you don’t start to repair
all the paper hearts
that I’ve torn apart.
It’s not suposed to be fair.
There’s nothing wrong about me.
There’s nothing right.
How can you say nothing’s wrong with this picture?
I’ll do my best, trying hard not to trick her.
God only knows if it’s truth, if it’s fiction.
Losing touch with time, stuck beneath the sky.
Have you ever seen a star die?
Has it ever crossed your mind?
I may be putting on a mask, love.
I may be trying to do without.
I’ve been drawing heart, tearing them apart.
How can you say nothing’s wrong with this picture?
I’ll do my best, trying hard not to trick her.
God only knows if it’s truth, if it’s fiction.
I’ve lost touch with time.
I have lost my mind.
Five Cups of Coffee
December 14, 2010
Had no idea what to do.
I was on my own and everything was brand new.
Five cups of coffee and some great conversations later
Now no one knows me quite like you do.
Had no idea where to go.
I lost myself in worlds that they could only dream of.
You made me feel like I could have a home here
Now no one knows me quite like you do.
No one knows me quite like you do,
no, no one knows me quite like you.
600 miles don’t stand a chance against what we’ve become.
This ain’t the end of us no this is the dawn.
Don’t worry about me leaving,
don’t worry about me leaving
I’ll be right here waiting when you come home
When you come home.
Had no idea how it felt
to know someone who’s just like me, just blond and not a mess.
There’s something about you that I don’t quite understand.
And now I cannot live without you.
Feels like I’ve known you my whole life.
We taught each other how to sing along when love strikes.
Lost track of time and now, a hundred cups of coffee later,
no one knows me quite like you do.
No one knows me quite like you do.
No, no one knows me quite like you.
600 miles don’t stand a chance against what we’ve become.
This ain’t the end of us, no this is the dawn.
Life’s too quiet when you are gone.
Don’t worry about me leaving,
don’t worry about me leaving.
I’ll be right here waiting when you come home.
When you come home.
So, when are you coming home?
Dear Sofie
July 12, 2010
Dear Sofie how you turned my life around.
You saved me Sofie as I fell towards the ground.
Life is harsh, but darling these tears are happy
and the world is beautiful from where I’m standing.
Dear Sofie you know boys will let you down.
They’ll hurt you Sofie as you fall towards the ground.
Life is harsh, but darling these tears are happy
and the world is beautiful from where I’m standing.
And now your prince charming is waiting, is waiting.
And you keep your feet on the ground
and you head in the clouds.
Dear Sofie you’re so easy to adore.
Spread your wings and take off through that open door.
Life is waiting for you, no more hesitating.
You are headed for a happy ending.
And now your prince charming is waiting, is waiting.
And you keep your feet on the ground
and you head in the clouds.
My Shadow
July 11, 2010
A song for Naomi Shadow <3
Chase the New York City skyscrapers
all the city lights shine so bright.
You drew my heart on a piece of paper
now it's you and I under pretty lights.
The nights are slowly getting colder
no one should walk these streets alone.
You know you'll always have my shoulder
and I'll be there to guide you home.
My shadow never walks alone.
When you find yourself hardly holding on,
when you're feeling sicker than before
I'll be by your side like a shadow
And we'll both know where we belong.
We can waste our time doing what we want.
We can scream and shout like we don't care.
I want to see the world with you by my side
Let's run away, let's escape reality.
The nights are slowly getting colder
no one should walk these streets alone.
You know you'll always have my shoulder
and I'll be there to guide you home.
My shadow never walks alone.
We run through fires together, together.
I know that we will last forever, forever.
The nights are slowly getting colder
no one should walk these streets alone.
You know you'll always have my shoulder
and I'll be there to guide you home.
My shadow never walks alone.
Dream Long Gone
May 29, 2010
This is a song I’ve been writing lately.
I guess it’s all over, there is nothing left to chase.
If you really love her, I’ve got no more time to waste.
How could I be so naive thinking this would end well?
I should have looked both ways before I tripped and fell.
So now I don’t know how,
But I, I’ve got to move on, pack my bags and go home.
And my, my hand in yours that’s a dream long gone
That’s a dream that’s lost.
Seeing you kiss her is like a dagger through the heart.
You might as well rip it out and tear it apart.
Now I feel stupid and foolish for believing in the happy ending.
Seeing you hold her reminds me that I’ve got to stop pretending.
So now I don’t know how,
But I, I’ve got to move on, pack my bags and go home.
And my, my hand in yours that’s a dream long gone
That’s a dream that’s lost.
It’s staring me right in the face,
I’ve got to get out of this miserable place.
I’ve been running away from home and
I can’t take, no, I can’t take anymore.
So now I’ve got to move on, pack my bags and go home.
And my, my hand in yours that’s a dream long gone
That’s a dream that’s lost.
Now I’ve got to move on, pack my bags and go home.
And my, my hand in yours that’s a dream long gone
It’s a dream that’s lost.

Save Me
April 26, 2010
I dedicate this to Sofie <3
Lately I’ve been losing my head.
When you’re sleeping with a lonely heart, it’s hard to get our of bed.
When you walk by me, oh honey, I can’t breathe.
And the fact that I’m not yours, it kills me.
Walking there in your skinnyjeans
Do you know how drowning feels?
Save me
I’ve fallen too far
Catch me
And don’t break my heart
Just take me by the hand
And sweep me off my feet.
I’ve got a twisted mind
They say that loving hurts, but does it hurt like this all the time?
I’d like to think that some day I’m yours
‘cos dreaming isn’t fatal. Of that I’m pretty sure.
I see you looking directly at me
Do you know how choking feels?
Save me
I’ve fallen too far
Catch me
And don’t break my heart
Just take me by the hand
And sweep me off my feet.
It hurts to see those arms will never hold me
It hurts to be alone with every heartbeat
If you could only feel it when our eyes meet, you’d know
Save me
I’ve fallen too far
Catch me
And don’t break my heart
Just take me by the hand
And sweep me off my feet.
Chasing Stars
February 6, 2010
Look at how vast the sea is.
Tell me, can you see it?
The horizon seems so out of reach.
My path is in the darkness.
I’m headed for the mountains.
The stars are easier to reach up there.
So are you coming with me?
You taught me what a dream is
and how to believe it.
Pack you bags we’re chasing them down.
Darling, you amaze me.
Don’t you dare erase me.
Hold on tight I’m sure we’ll make it.
I don’t want to walk a crowded street.
I don’t want to sing this on my own.
I have just been following my feet.
Teach me how to dance on sparkly snow.
And if the stars choose to disappoint,
I’ll still be there for you.
The rain has turned to snow now.
I don’t really know how,
but somewhere down the line the stars became close friends of mine.
Shed a ray of starlight
across my road through the night.
I’m chasing down, chasing down the stars.
I don’t want to walk a crowded street.
I don’t want to sing this on my own.
I have just been following my feet.
Teach me how to dance on sparkly snow.
And if the stars choose to disappoint,
I’ll still be there for you.
